“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” — Theodore Roosevelt Kolache Kafe began as a love story. Ashley and her husband, Stephen, first discovered their shared passion for hospitality in a restaurant in Wisconsin. It was there—working side by side—that they learned the value of hard work, care for others, and creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcome. What started as a shared dream between husband and wife eventually led them to Texas, a state they quickly fell in love with for its warmth, culture, and sense of community. Not long after arriving, they discovered kolaches—something new to them, yet deeply rooted in Texas tradition. With Ashley’s lifelong love of baking, she began making kolaches at home for their family. They were an instant hit. Friends soon followed, then neighbors. What started in a kitchen became a calling. From the beginning, their philosophy was simple: high-quality ingredients, made from scratch, every single day. That commitment to craftsmanship, freshness, and care revealed a need in the North Houston area for a café built on intention—not convenience. Stephen was a driving force behind that vision, offering steady support, encouragement, and belief in what they were building together. Though his journey was cut short in 2025, his presence remains woven into Kolache Kafe—in every morning routine, every cup of coffee brewed fresh, and every kolache served with care. Today, Ashley carries that dream forward with strength rooted in love, purpose, and gratitude. As a mother of three and the owner of Kolache Kafe, she continues to honor the life and vision they shared—nurturing both her family and the community that has supported them so deeply along the way. Kolache Kafe is more than a place for great food and coffee. It is a reflection of resilience, hospitality, and the enduring power of love turned into something meaningful for others. We’re grateful to be part of your mornings—and honored to serve you.
